My Novel Length Stories.....

My first story, Twice Torn, still lives in my drawer. Let's move on.

My second story has had the titles of Ten Seconds, Like Father Not Son, and now goes by Another Broken Boy. If it gets picked up by a publisher I am sure the title will change again. I'm learning not to be precious about titles. It is an adult mainstream novel set in Melbourne, Australia, and is the story of a father and son who grapple with a lie, and without forgiveness, a boy's innocence and a man's reason for living will be lost.

I also write YA, my first story being The Too Tall Tree (again, a title judges didn't like, so it is now The Correction) - the first in The Cull series. In a post meteor ravaged world where 15 year old boys are culled if deemed a burden to society, one boy will choose to stay and try to save his brother rather than escape and live.  I'm proud to say this story was the Ink & Insights Apprentice winner for 2017 and was also voted as a judge's favourite.

I'm currently writing The Knight's Curse - YA - about the second son of a Duke, desperate to become a knight to escape his family and the family secret, only to discover the local peasant boy is the only one who can train him, and he too has a secret, one which will destroy the Duke's son's chance of escaping.
Early days, early drafts, I need to get writing.  The version I have was Short Listed with an Honourable Mention in the 2019 Colorado Gold Writing Contest, so it is proving to be worthy of my time.

I am also writing another Women's Fiction as a follow up to Another Broken Boy. Same genre, but not a sequel. This one is an expansion of my short story Burning Day, and is called Surviving Insufficient Love. So far so good with the critique partners. I'm trying to be more structured with this story so my editing/rewriting process isn't as long. You can never know if you were successful until the job is done, so.....

I love to write and already have three more books at the idea stage. Write I can do, but titles are not my strength.
